Kai and Harry’s Virginia Beach Oceanfront Wedding at Hilton 31st

Kai and Harry were married last September on Labor Day weekend in Virginia Beach, and they couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful venue to host their event!  Their Hilton 31st wedding and reception was absolutely stunning!  Kai chose a fun color palette of lemon yellow, platinum, and fuchsia accented with a lot of bling!

The couple walked down the aisle on their monogrammed aisle runner lined with rose petals.  Kai loved the idea of incorporating balloons into their day so their florist, Palette of Petals created a fun white balloon arch for their ceremony backdrop adorned with spiraling satin ribbon down to the floor.

At the cocktail hour instead of a traditional sign in book the couple opted for a unique guest book idea, and encouraged their guests to sign their names on balloons held by a painted portrait of the couple.

Their wedding cake by Shockley’s Sweet Shoppe was also topped with a miniature version of themselves.  We love when couples incorporate personal touches into their wedding day and what could be more personal than details made in the likeness of you!

The reception was set for 100 of their closest friends and family members, and it looked gorgeous!  Palette of Petals created two different table top designs dispersed evenly throughout the room.  The first showcased a tall trumpet vase with acrylic rocks on the bottom and submerged curled iridescent balloon ribbon inside, with a full and lush arrangement on top made up of white hydrangea, white roses, yellow pixie roses, white carnations, buttery cream stock, and touches of fuchsia dendrobium orchids.  Crystals and soft floral accents hung down from the arrangement.

The second tabletop design showcased an oversized white balloon tied with a satin bow and a hanging beaded crystal string secured to an oversized diamond weight.  Around the weight were cylinder vases of varying heights filled with curled opal balloon ribbon and topped with a floating yellow gel candle.  We love how the balloon accents were carefully incorporated throughout the day’s events!

Most of all though, we loved how Kai’s smile could light up a room and how her happiness was evident with every word that she spoke.  It was an absolute pleasure working with both of you and we wish you all the best!!

  1. How timely! I am getting ready to contact the Hilton today to get information for our daughter’s upcoming wedding in 2015! Thanks! The pictures are beautiful!

      • Just starting to do the planning. As a free lance wedding planner, I have to say that planning my own daughter’s wedding is a lot different than planning for others……
